Overview

Chimebird ("we", "our", or "us") is developed by Summer Mint Ltd. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information when you use our iOS application.

Data Collection

We do not collect personal data for advertising or tracking. Chimebird is designed with privacy as a core principle:

  • All chime settings and preferences are stored locally on your device
  • We do not use any third-party analytics or advertising SDKs
  • We do not collect crash reports automatically
  • Sound files are bundled in the app and played locally — no network requests are made for audio

Data Storage

Your chime configuration is stored in App Group UserDefaults on your device. Configuration is not synced to our servers and is not synced through iCloud.

Notifications

Chimebird uses local notifications to deliver chime sounds. These notifications are scheduled and delivered entirely on your device.

We operate a lightweight silent push service (via Apple Push Notification service) solely to remove already-delivered chime notifications from your lock screen, so old chimes don't pile up. To do this, your device sends an APNs device token to our service. The token is an anonymous identifier issued by Apple — it is not linked to your name, email, Apple ID, or any other identifier we hold. Tokens are stored only to deliver the cleanup pushes and are automatically purged when Apple reports them as expired.

Third-Party Services

Chimebird relies on the following services to operate:

  • Apple StoreKit: Processes subscriptions and purchases through the App Store.
  • Apple Push Notification service (APNs): Delivers the silent pushes that clean already-delivered chime banners.
  • RevenueCat: Validates App Store receipts and tracks subscription / lifetime entitlement state. RevenueCat receives an anonymous, app-generated user identifier and Apple's purchase receipt — no personal contact details are sent. See the RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
  • Cloudflare Workers (operated by us): Stores anonymous APNs device tokens described above and triggers the cleanup pushes. No payload data, settings, or personal identifiers are stored.

Apple-provided services are also governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Permissions

Chimebird requires the following permissions to function:

  • Notifications: To deliver chime sounds at scheduled times.
  • Background App Refresh: To maintain chime schedules and clean up delivered notifications.
  • Remote Notifications: To receive the silent cleanup pushes described above.

These permissions are used solely for the chime functionality. We do not access your contacts, location, photos, microphone, or any other personal data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
